Patrick O'Neill


Patrick’s current role focuses on the core functions of the organization to enable it to achieve its long-term vision. Areas of focus include strategy, finance, sales, marketing and overall company growth.  Cancer Diagnostics, Inc. (CDI) was founded in 1998, with one product line; CDI’s Tissue Marking Dyes; the first commercially available 7-dye color kit for marking tissue margins in cancer diagnostics. Since that time, CDI has grown to be the leading supply partner to over 3,500 laboratories worldwide with shipping locations across the United States. Patrick graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

Mark Seidel

Vice President of Operations
Mark started with CDI in December of 2012 as Operations Director.  In Mark’s current role as Vice President of Operations, his primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the organizations daily activities.  Responsibilities include supply chain management, company processes, finance, employee management, and production.  Prior to joining CDI, Mark had 16 years experience in manufacturing and operations.  Mark graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

Jonathan D. Kent, Ph.D

Director of Manufacturing & Product Development

Jonathan started with CDI in January 2017 as Director of Manufacturing and Product Development. Jonathan’s primary responsibility is to provide operational, scientific and technical leadership for all Manufacturing and Product Development activities at CDI. Prior to joining CDI, Jonathan had 17 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry working for Bayer, Talecris Biotherapeutics and Grifols Therapeutics. During that tenure, Jonathan worked 7 years as an R&D and process development scientist, and over 10 years as a Sr. Technical Manager and Director of Manufacturing. Jonathan holds a B.S. in Chemistry from The College of William and Mary and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Mark Cuendet

Vice President of Sales
Mark joined CDI in 2013 after a successful 13-year career with Surgipath and Leica Biosystems.  Mark held roles at Leica as Sales Representative, Regional Consumables Manager and Regional Equipment Manager for the entire West Coast and (later) the Southeast United States. Mark’s major responsibilities include creating and implementing effective direct sales strategies and leading CDI’s nationwide direct consumable, IHC, and equipment sales personnel as well as CDI’s OEM, International and distributor sales units.  Mark currently resides in Nashville, TN and holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington.

Rachael Kirschling

Customer Service Manager

Rachael was promoted to Customer Service Manager in January 2017 after serving as a Customer Service Representative since 2013. Rachael started with CDI originally in the parts assembly department in 2011 and is instrumental in coordinating all aspects of order efficiency between the customer service department and works closely with the warehouse supervisors and CDI’s own fleet trucks to optimize accuracy and shipping times. Rachael is responsible for managing all aspects of customer support and service and develops CDI’s customer service strategy and manages the overall performance of her team and processes to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Rachael is originally from Tucson, AZ and resides in Morrisville, NC.

Walt Brittle

Director of Quality and Regulatory

Walt has over 25 years of experience in regulatory compliance in both manufacturing and clinical settings, including experience in medical device general management, with hands-on leadership of product development (design controls), marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufactur
ing operations. Walt is an experienced RABQSA certified Quality Management System Principle Auditor, Scope ISO 13485:2003 and has performed internal and external GMP audits both domestic and internationally. Walt joined the CDI Team as the Director of Quality and Regulatory in August of 2014. In joining the CDI Team, Walt’s focus is the overall installation and execution of the Quality Management System for CDI.  Walt will structure and oversee an appropriate fully compliant quality system to meet ISO 13485 regulatory requirements and will work towards continuously improving CDI's QSR compliant Quality Management System as well as CE Marking oversight and implementation to better serve our European distributors (CDI’s Tissue Marking Dyes achieved CE Certification 11/14). Walt has his BBA and MBA from the University of Miami.
